V-Bay Music Day - Sunday 24th October

The Hillmans

Ventnor, and the Isle of Wight, have a long tradition of live music, and on the Sunday there will be local musicians playing at venues along the Esplanade and into the town. Some of the venues have regular live music but for others this is the only time in the year that music will feature.

All of the musicians give freely of their time (although food and drink is generally provided). There will be a fantastic variation in musical styles - Rock, Irish, Blues, Jazz, Folk and all sorts of styles in between. In addition Robbie Apple-Tree (music with a nautical theme) will be a strolling musician along the Esplanade from 11am.

The expected programme and venues are listed below although artists in each venue are still subject to change:

Seafront

Chiaro - Colin and Gwen - guitar and vocals 2 -3pm

Pinxto Playa – Donna Cafferky - acoustic guitar and vocals 1.30 - 2.30pm
Colin and Gwen 3.30 - 4.30pm
Met Bar - Jim Thorne - piano 2 - 4pm
Mill Bay Inn – The Hooleys (Irish) 12 - 1pm

Goodman's Bistro (Ocean Blue) – Steve Parkes - piano 11am - 1pm
Winter Gardens Bar – "That Jazz" - cool jazz 3pm - 5pm

Town

Rio's - Mark and Adam - guitars and vocals 6 - 8pm
The Rose– Niewborn – an exciting new band! 9pm onwards
The Crab and Lobster – The Sugar Kings – vocals, acoustic bass and electric guitar 6 - 8pm

Throughout the day comedian Chris Philpott will be moving between venues with "Strolling Magic" with close-up magic and balloon sculptures.

There will be additional live music in The Spyglass, The Blenheim and The Boniface Arms. This is being arranged by the venues themselves, please check details with the venue direct.
